The Kodak Moments of Koh Phi Phi

Every view is a Kodak moment while at Koh Phi Phi. It is the ultimate tropical getaway.
Koh Phi Phi has the finest sand ever, white beaches and breathtaking rock formations that rise from turqoise water..when the boat pulls over you know your in Paradise

Many people hate touristic places, but I like to difer. If the place has thousands of people traveling miles to see it, there must be something AWESOME about it. Phi Phi is one of those places, you will practically have a minimum of 5 people posing for  their own photos in your pictures. This however does not remove any beauty from this paradise

You get a chance to snorkel, see the viking caves and best of all just soak in sun in the most beautiful place ever

Its 31st Dec, spending my last day of this year on this lovely island brings so many good feelings. I cant express the joy I feel as I go into 2014. A new year with great things to look forward to.

Happy New Year and a Great 2014!!!

Sin City Bangkok meets History in Ayuthaya

When I choose a destination there certain things I have to particularly make sure their covered. Good street food, good night life and many other travels. On this trip I chose Bangkok to be my stop over in between other cities and other neighboring countries. I have been to Bangkok before so time I chose to have my $25 apple martini on the Sky Bar. The view was definitely one to kill for:)
On one of my days in between my non touristic days, I chose to take a day off alone to Ayutthaya the historical city. While traveling alone as a backpacker everyone at home assumes I will be spending the whole vacation by myself, in reality the days you get to seat alone or just enjoy doing your own thing without having the same conversation with different people is very rare. Don't get me wrong I am happy to have all this new people I meet but when its time to take a time out, I usually have a great time :). I therefore too a train out there and got a tuk tuk guy to take me around for half the day.

My evenings in Bangkok ranged from wild drunken nights to mellow walks on the river or just a street and back massage for less than $5.
You know when the statement its a small world comes to play; I bumped into a friend who I had last seen 3 years ago in Malaysia. It was great reconnecting and having some good Bangkok time together shopping and having our traditional hookah evenings
.
We all know Bangkok is well known for lady boys, street boy streets and go go bars. I may have passed on the ping pong show but that didn't mean  didn't get my chance of having to see tiny Thai girls working the poles as we passed by the bars.

Bangkok was so different as I reconnected with friends from places I had visited before and made life long friends. having amazing street food and just chilling all day is just the best way to spend my vacations:)

Rose of The North : Chiang Mai

This lovely gem has been on my to-do list for years since I moved to Asia. It’s a wonderful, small city with 700 years of history, this adventure started with a night at Bangkok after arriving from Nairobi. On this South East Asia adventure my plan was to use as many trains, buses and local transport as possible. For two reasons, I needed cheap travel and wanted to immerse myself in the rich, warm and hospitable culture of South East Asians.

Well sometime I go for the good old African timing and arrived 5 minutes before the train pulled of Hua Lamphong station in Bangkok. Running around the train station with a backpack weighing 11kgs was not exactly the best start but upon seating and meeting a Spanish girl who turned out to be the best company was really great. The train ride was 12 hours...sounds dreadful but it was actually very pleasant... I had my first beer... met some great people and had a great party in the restaurant car.

My plan initially was to make it for the Yi Peng festival. It is indeed the best time to visit this incredible city lit up with lanterns... I missed that Shame!! Next time!! While I was there I opted to hang out with 2 lovely Thai girls who are from Bangkok and had come up to CM for some time away from the city. Being able to see CM from the views of a local gave such rich time whilst there.

Chiang Mai is one of those cities that has been able to retain its beautiful natural charm while still allowing for us the young party lovers to still have something to do with our nights.

I was unfortunate as my time there after the 1st week of doing the nearby attractions and was ready to head to Pai and Chiang Rai for Elephant Mahout training. The rain decided I would not leave and it rained for 4 days continuously. I got to meet interesting people, drink loads of mojitos at Mojito house. The calm, peace, warmth and great food of Chiang Mai made me happy:)
